Long Time, No See

Wow. its been awhile since I have blogged! So many great things have been happening that my blog was kind of pushed to the side for awhile! Today is the day I get caught up! Caught up on emails, phone messages, edits, updating the website, facebook and the BLOG. How is everyone? I'm hoping everyone is managing this awful heat we've been having! We've lived in the AC for far too long and the kids have been begging to get out. But as soon as they are out they are ready to come back in and drive me a little more crazy! Business has been GREAT! So many wonderful families, children and NEWBORNS! ahhh I love my newborns. They are so very precious, those first few weeks are so special and I love capturing those memories for families! Sessions are booking up fast so if you want a weekend session talk to me soon. As scary as it is to think holiday sessions, eeek, will be starting soon. I have a few plans on making mini sessions that will be PERFECT for Christmas cards, holiday cards, or if you want pictures done but don't need a full session!

I heart faces- Lets hear it for the boys!!

This week's theme is "Lets hear it for the boys". When I heard the theme I knew exactly which picture I was going to enter. This is BIG SHOES TO FILL and was part of daddy's Fathers Day gift. My son is forever playing with daddy's tools and boots and tries to "fix" things just like him! I love the little boy in my life, oh yea and the big one too. ;)

Can i just say how much I love this family!!!! Two very sweet girls with an amazing mommy and daddy. It was raining and yucky on the afternoon these were taken, but the sun came out just as we started and ended up being PERFECT! But of course I asked for sun on facebook so it had to happen right! Had such a great time and hope I have the pleasure working with you all again very soon!

Project Give Back

Ridenour Photography

‎**Project Give-Back** Each month I will be accepting nominations for someone who deserves a free photo session. It can be you or someone else. Send me an email with WHY you or someone you know deserves a free session. It can be as simple as they need a "pick me up", someone going through really hard times, or suffering from medical conditions.

Nominations will be accepted from the 1st to the last day of the month and the winning nomination will be picked the first week of the next month! Project starts NOW. email nominations to breton@ridenour-photography.com (it will remain completely Anonymous, if you choose.) This is very special to me. When we were going through hard times with Alaina we were given photographs from two very kind photographers. Those pictures are something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I want to be able to give that to someone else that might not be able to get it otherwise.

I Heart Faces- From a Distance

I heart faces does weekly photo challenges, this is my first week entering a photo. The challenge is "From a Distance". Yesterday I took the time to actually go out and photograph my own family. All these beautiful family pictures for other people and I had none of my own. ok ok I have TONS of pics but I wanted more "artistic" photographs. We set off to a local spot in town that I adore and I started snapping away. Why is it so much harder to get pictures of your own kids than other peoples? But we ended the day with several good pictures that I love!! Here is my entry:

Loving My New "Job"

If you can call it that. It is so much fun to work with families and be apart of their lives, even if its just for an hour. It's so much fun to be able to capture the true love between family members and those "silly" times too. Everyone I have worked with have just been amazing. I am so blessed to be able to do something I have such a passion for. So now I have to take time to thank everyone who has pushed me to start my business and that have kept my spirits high when I was questioning myself. You all know who you are. My first giveaway was a huge success and turned out to be the most wonderful time for me to read how much people appreciate the work I do. I have recieved some wonderful comments that have brought me to tears. It really helps to know I am on the right path. If I haven't worked with you yet and you have stopped here from my website, I hope I get a chance to work with you soon. To those that I have worked with I hope your sessions were as relaxing as possible and you enjoyed your time. That is my goal. I want us ALL to have fun. I want to run around and have an adventure with your children. So they have FUN getting their pictures taken because that is when you see the genuine smiles and their true personalities shine! THAT is what I want to capture, and what my photography is about. Looking at the weather report makes me want to smile. After all this rain... bring on that sun. It looks like its going to be GORGEOUS. I'm so excited. Two sessions on a gorgeous day, how could it get any better. Oh I know a cook-out with my family to celebrate the start of pool season! My kids are just as excited about this event and think they are going to be able to jump in and start swimming.... sorry kiddies still a little chilly for that but soon..... gammy and pop-pop's house is so much fun lots of room to run and play AND a pool, kids dream house. Hoping the great weather holds out over Sunday for my shoot with another beautiful family! So thats my weekend. What are you doing this weekend?

Just Gorgeous

Yesterday we braved the rain to grab some pictures of gorgeous Miss Lilly, and what an adventure we had! First it started out as a drizzling rain but luckily Princess Lilly came prepared!!! Her mommy had an umbrella to shield the princess from any rain. We started hiking and spotted some beautiful flowers. That was it Lilly decided to collect flowers all along the way and it made for some gorgeous shots. All along the way I was privileged to hear lots of great stories and commentary- I LOVE three year olds, you never know what they are going to say next. After our hike little Miss decided to go play at the park like any princess would do after a hard day of modeling!! So much fun!!!!! Thank you for being such a great model Lilly!!!! Can't wait to go on another flower picking adventure with you soon!

Rain, Rain Go Away.....

Hoping the rain holds off for this weekend. At least for enough time to grab some super cute pictures from the two sessions I have planned..... sigh..... I guess it is spring! Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

How Lucky Am I?

I was able to work with two families on Saturday, here is the other beautiful family. This session was so much fun. They came armed with their Star Wars gear, which made for a really great time. The boys got into their parts and made for some great photos. But those pictures will not be shared because I want to surprise the family with them. So here are some other shots of two handsome little men!

I had the pleasure working with this family on Saturday, Mr B. was sporting his 2 year old attitude and would quickly tell me when it was time to move on by saying "done". Ok I admit it was partially my fault since I had the family meet me at a playground at a park. Of course he would much rather play at the park then get silly pictures taken. Now I know for next time! On to the pictures.....

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Hope all the mothers out there have a wonderful day full of hugs and kisses! I had two great sessions yesterday and was blessed to wake up to three sweet little faces eager to tell me "Happy Mothers Day". After I was awake enough to get up, I was given three handmade cards. M, who is in Kindergarten, made hers all by herself including the darling little message inside. K, who is 3, drew a Kool-Aid maker on the front of his card and a BIG chimpanzee on the inside. A is 1 and of course to small to write her own card but my wonderful hubby helped her create a card that brought tears to my eyes. I'm so blessed. Everyday is a gift and we need to enjoy it to the fullest. Remember all those sweet little moments we all too often take for granted. When I photograph your family those are the moments I hope to capture. Pure genuine smiles, little giggles and even the temper-tantrums, because one day they will be no more and THEN you will WANT to remember those times. :) HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

It's My Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me! I get to share it with a Royal Wedding! Today has been perfect so far. I woke up to my little princess curled into me, snoring in my face with her sweet little lips puckered into a kiss. They all were extra good this morning and as a big bonus it was Pajama Day at school. I declared we were all going to celebrate so we dropped Morgan off in our jammies, which we are all still sporting. The weather is absolutely gorgeous, you couldn't ask for a better day! When we got home from dropping my oldest off at school my sweet little boy asked if we could have candy for breakfast. WHY NOT, its my birthday! So as I am typing this I am being hand -fed M&Ms by the sweetest little girl, how could life get any better! Don't worry they also ate bananas and yogurt with their candy. Can't wait to see what other fun surprises are in store for today!!

My First Post.

This is all becoming real. I've been dreaming of this day for quite awhile. I have always enjoyed photography, it first started back in high school when I took a photography class. We used old slr cameras and had to develop in a darkroom. It was so fascinating seeing the images you took come to life. I went on to get my first dslr after my daughter was born and I found out that I love taking pictures of children. Kids are awesome subjects they are so unpredictable, you can get some pretty amazing candid shots. Now I am a stay at home mom of three young children who probably get tired of mommy always having a camera in front of her face. I was pushed ever so nicely by some very good friends to start this business.  I'm looking forward to this adventure and seeing where it takes me.
